• Researches and experimentations for the rationalisation of zootechnical breeding and production quality features.
• Formulation and coordination of zootechnical research and experimentation activities.
• Counseling and assistance to companies of the zootechnical branch and to public administration operating in the sector of the standards for the production processes.

Main research lines:

• Introduction of clean technologies into the zootechnical breeding and into agro-industry.
• Improving of the  breeding techniques  related to the production quality, products destination and company profits. 
• Definition of the swine meat and milk technological and quality features intended for the processing for the production of local areas typical products.
• Location of the quality  variability causes linked to breeding (especially to feeding and animals genetic features), processing techniques and products seasoning.
• Appraisal of the incidence of these variations on the final production.
• Appraisal of the technical and instrumental innovations proposed in the zootechnical field and of the products processing.
• Instrumental appraisal of pork meat and carcasses: validation of tools and measurement methods.

Moreover:

• Predisposition and performance of specific intervention of diffusion and divulgation of the information to the research and experimentation field and production tech support.
• Consolidated partnerships and collaborations with the protection and control structures for the main zootechnical products with a trade mark, research and national and regional professional experimentation and training structures, breeders and producers associations of the sector.
